The past year has been hard for everyone, but luckily for us gamers, we’d been preparing for quarantine long before COVID-19.
“Shelter in place, do not leave your house, and if you do, stay away from others.” Their advice was laughable because every game can describe a time, before the pandemic, when they’ve spent days sheltered away from the world.
However, even for hardcore gamers, the need to socialize is still present. The past year has been difficult, no matter what others say, but getting back into the world does not mean you cannot satisfy your game addiction.
So, to help you maintain your sanity, here are six indie games found on Apple’s IOS Arcade that can be played anywhere, anytime.
Sneaky Sasquatch
This indie game is a treasure trove of fun. Get ready to disguise yourself as a human and survive. Sneak around collecting food, supplies and engaging in all-around mischief.

This game holds a very special place in the hearts of many. The Oregon Trail is back and with a new face. Developed by Gameloft, this is likely to become an instant classic in your game library. While the core of the game remains the same, this new version is equipped with better graphics and plenty more surprises.
However, be warned, there is a similar game in the IOS App Store with a similar name, be sure to avoid the one with a single period in the end. It is not the game referenced here. (Example to avoid: The Oregon Trail.)
Be prepared to survive the grueling trip across rural and undeveloped America. Make choices in the game and watch how they impact your future. Whether it is on a road trip, waiting in line, or flat-out bored, this game has something to offer everyone.
Fantasian
Fantasian by Mistwalker Group is hands down a masterpiece. This indie game creates a perfect blend of art and visual storytelling while remaining interactive. From the creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, this game is a must-play.

This game is hands beautiful. The Mediterranean Island that where her grandparents live offers a similar, albeit virtual, escape for the summertime. Go from the beach to a castle. Discover wild geese or build a bird home; there is something for everyone, for most ages.

For a monthly subscription of $4.99 a month, the Apple Arcade offers over 180 ad-free games. If you found these seven interesting, remember that there are plenty more where they came from.
